Quick Update for my Spartan Family…

October 3rd, 2008 by sandra

Welcome to any of my Spartan family who may be viewing our family website!  I need to keep this updated, as I have been majorly busy with 2 kids in school, a thriving pug sitting business, a little one at home, holidays fast approaching, and oh ya, work! [thank God it's part time!]

I had planned to attend the reunion, but we decided at the last minute to book a quick fall camping trip in Santa Cruz for the holiday weekend.  I was really looking forward to seeing all of you, but our calendars clashed.  Oh well.  I really hope that some of you will contact me so we can meetup for coffee or at least forward fun pics and family updates!

Ok, here’s the update in our neck of the woods.  I am married – duh, the new last name- to a great guy who is a computer programmer and was in the Air Force.  We love going to the beach, haning out at jazz clubs, fine dining, and our favorite thing, hangin’ with family, including family movie nights and camping.  We have a great new toy hauler, in case any of you want to join us for a camping trip.  His other past time is dirtbike riding with my son.

Which brings me to my son.  He’s almost 17! A black belt in TKD, loves cars, trucks, dirtbike riding and skateboarding! Typical.

My daughters are 3 and 5 and keep me on my toes! Lexi is a new Kindergartener who can talk up a storm! Angelina is an active Target shopper with me who loves jumpers and hangin’ with our friends.

As for me, I’m a retired parole officer!  I was always into law enforcement when I was a Spartan, and started working for different probation departments shortly after graduating from college!  I have a degree in Social Work from SFSU.  Currently I work as a Bridal Consultant for a major bridal store in the bay area.  I work very part time by choice and I love it!  I’m able to hang with the kids and beautify my home! I’m active with our local parish.  I’m an orginal member of the church’s Stewardship Committe [which started up 2 years ago], I’m a Sunday lector for the 1030am mass [been doing this for 15 years! Man how time flies!], and my most recent and proud accomplishment is that I learned how to play the violin!

I play violin for the Sunday masses at our church.  We have a large and great orchestra string section and we have done 2 midnight Christmas performances, 1 Easter mass, and 2 recitals.  It’s soooo fun!  I highly encourage ANY of you to choose an instrument, it’s very rewarding!  I had never played an instrument before and did not know how to read music.  I can do it all now and it’s soooo incredible! My violin teacher is my mentor.

I also have a thriving pug sitting business, called, Pug Sitting with a Smile :) and yes, we own two pugs – Yoda and Chewie – they are crazy and super fun!  Pugs are the BEST dogs in the world!  We are HUGE pug fans, look for us at the upcoming Millbrae Pet Parade – we’ll be with with Bay Area Pug group!

Well that’s it for now, email me! and Hoorah, hoorah, for ICA, our alma mater of the west! Thanks for checkin’ us out!SANY0381.JPG
