Things we love, Amelie style…

One of my most favorite movies is Amelie, or in French, ‘Fabuleux destin d’Amélie Poulain, Le.’Â
Every now and then I think of the part in the movie when Amelie is describing weird things that she and other people love, like dumping out and re-organizing a purse or toolbox, or looking back at the audience while watching a movie…
I thought of this when I was grocery shopping this moring. I love the feel of running my hand in the big vat of pinto beans. Who can’t say they’ve never stopped to smell the sourdough bread or croissants? I stop to smell the croissants – big time.
While shopping, I find myself always stopping to smell the Ibarra Mexican hot chocolate or the fresh corn tortillas- super yummy. Oooh, and don’t get me started with the coffee aisle…
Who can say that they don’t stop to check out the flowers – I usually find myself drawn to the Daisy’s, as Meg Ryan said in, You’ve Got Mail, “Their just so festive.” I think she said that about flowers, right? or was she talking about her bouquet of new pencils…?
Anyway, it’s all good stuff, like the toads in our pond. So the next time your in the market, think of Amelie and tell me what you love.
